Interesting realization – in 2008 I traveled to the Southernmost points of the European and Asian continents. Well, at least according to some definitions.
The Southernmost point of the European continent (proper…excluding the islands) is in Tarifa, Spain, which is only 14 km from Africa.
In Asia, the Southernmost point is in Sentosa, Singapore – well, at least that is what they claim.
It does not really make a lot of sense, but oh well…it is a nice place to visit. Here is an excerpt from the official Sentosa website:
Linked to Palawan Beach by a picturesque suspension bridge, the Southernmost Point of Asia is a small yet dramatic islet that inspires dreams, adventure or something altogether unique.
Flanked by two viewing towers, the timber viewing deck offers unobstructed view of the South China Sea. It is the perfect, private setting for an intimate cocktail reception or an exquisite gourmet dining experience.
